What Size Tire '99 Disco?

dirtymorgan -> What Size Tire '99 Disco? (5/2/2008 1:53:36 PM)

I have read a bunch of posts, but want to get this right. I have a '99 Disco II with the coil spring conversion kit in place for the rear.  Can I go to a 245/75/16 tire and not have to do any modifications?  I don't want a lift kit etc...

Thanks anyone...

ayes, there is no question, a 245 will fit fine and look even better.

But I would go with 255/70-16. Bigger than stock, a tinny bit smaller but fatter than 245/75 and in my opinion, look much better.

You could go with that tire. It will fit perfectly fine. Better let us see your truck when you fit in the tire. :)

If you don''t want to go for a lift, at least replace your shocks so you can improve your handling over your old tired factory shocks, try either Bilstein''s or OME''s.

I run 255 65 r16 Michelin Cross Terrains. Not a sexy looking tire, but they are wide and served me well over gnarly rocks and sand.

EDIT, originally had written 255 75 r16. Sorry!

I run 265 70 16 duelers on stock susp. no problems, couldn''t go any bigger with out rubbing tho.. Aftermarket front bumper gives a little more clearance.  But the tires worked well with a stock bumper.
