My check engine came on today.  used my code reader and got P2A00 bank one sensor one. I am not sure what the problems cause i changed that oxygen sensor last week because i was getting A P0135 code prior to changing the sensor.  can any one help?  Was there anything speical i was suppose to do before, while, or after installing the new 02 sensor?

P2A00 is not a Rover fault code!!
How many miles on your truck and did you change all 4 02 sensors?

Still don't know where you got that code, but any way, your question now is what, how to turn the light off?? Do it with the scanner.
If it won't go off, then you have another problem, if that is the case, e-mail me your tele number and a good time for me to call you.

p2a00 is a code for your bank 1 upstream sensor range performance. it is a rover code, they changed format a few years ago on the bmw engine mike. and bad news for you snugg, you changed the wrong one, but that most likely isnt the fix anyway. bank one is the pass. side on that engine, so its the other side, however, there is good news too, this fault is almost always caused by pin hole air leaks in your cat, very common, sucks air into the exhaust and screws up your o2 readings, but you do have an emmisions warr. until 80000 miles, take it to a dealer, and theyll replace the cat for free.

i still have the old sensor i removed.  i think i'm going to try and replace the one on the passenger side with the one that i removed from the drivers side and see what codes pop up.  i want the dealer to be kinda of the last resort .  i don't want them to to ring up 3 O2 sensors to my tab before they can decide if it is the cat.  Would this be something testbook could determine right away or is the basic trail and error method still common practice by dealers.

Thanks for that code feed back. Do you have a list of these BMW codes that you could send me so I don't step on my toes in the future?
