I bought a Black 2000 Discovery Saturday! Any new owner advice would be greatly appreciated. One problem I'm having at this moment is that the dealer bought a new key with keyless entry on it, but didn't program it. I have programmed these things before for other cars, but I can't seem to find the procedure online for my Disco. Thank you so much! Disco Mike is my hero!

Congrats on the new truck. Unfortunately, you have to go back to the dealer and have them program it for you. They can't be done on your own..............only by LR. Found out the hard way.

Oh, well that really bums me out. One more thing is that I do not have a owners manual yet and was wondering what some of the buttons and lights that I'm seeing do and mean. First the only light that comes on is this little yellow truck(view from the back) and there is two arrows pointing away from the truck that both start in the center of the picture and a little above it. It only comes on every now and then. What does it mean?

The other is a button that is right below the fog lights buttons. It appears to be another type of light switch because the picture is similar to the fog lights. I can't figure out what it does.

For your first question: This is the ACE system or the Active Cornering Enhancement System. Do you mean that you see the light come on on the dash. If it does then there is a problem that needs to be addressed. My truck is not equipped with this feature so I can't be of much help on this one so just wait for someone else to chime in. Second Question: I think the button that you are talking about is for the rear fog lights. See if when you press the button a little amber light should show up (on the actual button itself). Then go out an check the back of the car and see if two yellow lights have come on on the back bumber. They changed these to clear lights at some point but I think that was in 2003 so I'm pretty sure your going to have yellow ones like me. Feel free to ask away................people on here are much more helpful than I could ever be. Good luck

Do you have an ACE warning light on, if so when does it come on? Have you checked the ACE fluid level?

Well, it only comes on every now and then and when I turn the truck off and restart it goes away. I didn't know there was ACE fluid. Please let me know how and where to check. This is my first Land Rover and it didn't come with a owners manual. On a side note, I couldn't get heat to the rear vents tonight. I havn't figured out how the controls work. Anyone care to elaborate on it for me.

Open the hood and look on your right. You will see that the power steering reservoir is split in 2 with 2 caps. 1 of them ( the one towards the front) has the same logo that you see come on in your dash. Ace uses power steering fluid. The ''home'' way of refreshing it, is to empty the reservoir, fill it up with new fluid, start the truck let it run for a minute, stop it, empty the fluid, fill with fresh and repeat that proceedure 3 to 4 times. By the last, the fluid will not be perfectly new, but darn close and definitely better than it was before.

Just regular power steering fluid? Nothing special at all? And please someone explain the heater/AC to me.
