Oversteering after lift

Hi Guys.

I noticed that after I installed OME shocks and OME HD springs in the front, and General Grabbers, keeping the air springs in the back, that I oversteer a bit.  I also noticed that it needs a wee bit of help to return to center.  It likes to wander, too.  It's nothing major, but it used to have 18" tires and I have ACE - it rode like a sports car.  Is this normal?  Can it be fixed?

Pretty normal, your caster is now out of adjustment which causes this to happen.
Mine went away when installed a True Trac front diff, you can also make caster adjustment.
What did you do with the rear suspension to level it out?

I used 2" spacers from Toddcosuspensions.com.  Same price as rovertyme, but they included 2" front coil spacers which I sold for $40 to help make up the cost.

So I checked out the TruTrac front diff and at expedition exchange it is $620.(https://www.expeditionexchange.com/drivetrain/indexmain.shtml)


Is it worth $620 for what I would get? How about the install?  Can I do it in my garage?  Thanks for the help!

Go to RTE and read about their castor correcting radius arms as you other option.

The rear is actually stepping out on you going around turns?  That has to be scary.

It is not the rear, why would you think that?

Oversteer is when the rear of the car steers around the front.  Understeer is when the car "pushes" and doesn't turn enough, creating a large radius.

Let me clarify.  When I turn the truck, it turns a little and then it turns a lot.  It's like it "grabs" and all of a sudden the truck turns.  It's not as bad as it sounds, but annoying.

Oversteer on a car this size and weight would be pretty difficult, but your situation sounds interesting.  I wish I could help, but oversteer is where the rear of the car would actually be sliding out because it is losing grip.
