I have a good leak coming straight down my oil filter.  My first thought I said okay let me change to oil and put a new one on...  We check to make sure no seal was left on and clean up the area.  Slapped a fram oil filter went on to finish the oil change.  Started the car up and leaking again.  Took it to a local mechanic and changed filter again and still leaking.  Added dye to the motor to inspect and he thought it was coming from up above the filter housing.. timing belt cover???  Decided to take it in to LR dealer about 130 miles away and they checked into it and said that it was definitely the oil filter?  They said it look like it was smaller than it needed to be.  They are going to slap on a manufacturers filter on Wednesday and check to make sure.  Has anyone had issues using certain types of oil filters and leaks?

I've heard plenty of bad things about fram oil filters..but I myself have never had a problem with them.
