I have an '02 Disco with 51,000 miles. I lost the manual & maintenance schedule. Anyone have any advice on what maintenance I need? Any advice on where to get a copy of manual and maintenance schedule? Is it necessary to go to a Land Rover dealer for maintenance? Any reply is much appreciated.

No you do not need to go to the dealer.
You need the coolant flushed, the transmission filter and fluid changed and the brake fluid changed. You also need to change the fluid in both the front and rear differentials and the transfer case.
As far as finding a manual look for the Rave CD. You can find the maintaince schedule at www.edmunds.com.

You need the RAVE CD down load. Do a search. It will have all the info you need.

your next major service is at 60. factory services are every 7500 miles, the 52,500 service is nothing much more then an oil change, but you want to check your rubber breather hoses on either side of the intake, they start to wear out and get soft at around 50

What roverguy7 is saying is true, however, LR recommends flushing the coolant every 45,000 miles or 36 months, whichever is sooner and the brake fluid every 24 months regardless of mile's.
I find it is easier to do driveline maintance at a easy to remember schedule, such as every 50,000 miles. So you do the driveline service at 50k, then 100k, then 150k so on and so on. Much easier to remember than 60k, 120k, 180? 200?, you get my point.

What was the last service done?
How often do you have your oil changed?
Just keep the fluid topped off and change the oil every 3000 miles until you are ready to do the 60,000.

You better start doing the services, it is alot cheaper to service it then repair it later.
