While driving today I noticed some heat. I found that the floorboard behind the driver seat was EXTREMELY hot. Almost so hot I couldn''t touch it.

Anybody know what this may be?

Could be a couple things....what model Rover? Any holes / breaks in your exhaust line? Possibly from cat back? Was it moreso when driving, or
presumably when parked / idling with engine running?

its a 93 3.9l. I had done a lot of drive, not really sitting at an idle. I noticed that under the truck is a muffler (directly above this is the most heat). Can these clog up?

May have lost a heat shield or have a hairline crack in a muffler weld or seam. Got to be something exhaust related.

When the truck is cool, run your hand underneath along the topside of the muffler - between it and the frame / floorboard. You probably have
a hole or crack. Check your floorboards too and make sure no holes - typical for that model...
