Hi I want infomation on whats the best engine to get for a 90 the does a little off road and a lot of onroad Feedback would be grate thanks

200 Tdi every time... 70 to 80 mph cruising and up to 36 mpg... Hah! Beat that with yer V8 rubbish ;)

You could always fit the M52 straight 6 BMW engine that comes in the BMW 328i.
While Land Rover was owned by BMW the Defender 90 & 110''s were fitted with the 2.8i M52 motors here in South Africa, the vehicle is known here as the Defender 2.8i and here are some specs: 141kw and 280Nm torgue
