I can not go into 4-low while stationary. The only way i can is put it in neatral, then select drive, go back to neatral then it lets me push it up into 4-low, i did notice when i have it stuck in neatural, i got out and pushed the truck a bit got back in and it shifted find, so i''m finding out i can only go into 4-low or back into 4-high while moving. is this a big concern, could it be related to that i cant use Diffierential lock.

Little concern, but not a major one. When did you last service the t/case? Check for metal in the oil when draining it.

I have a hard time engaging Lo while stationary, but if the truck is at a slow roll (less than 5 mph in Neutral) it will shift smooth as the main gear shifter.

I''m sure its been a long time, owned it a month, i doubt not much has been done to it since me. Been working on crap that should have been done to it almost everyday. I will check the t/case when i''m able. I''m having bigger concerns with my trans and brakes i think..

lol. even if i had the saturday, i dont have the money, i''m at 9714.37 from a truck i spend 5200.00 on. From repairs just to get road worthy. Trans problems or brakes, dont know what. sometimes i hear a loud ding when shifting. And defently at times when i''m slowing down, from around 45 to a stop light, a load pop, from the drivers side, when i get close to stopping, may be from the inertia to. and i feel it in the break, it doenst press in.. but i feel a small shake in it. does this about 40% of the time. Power steering i should have fixed soon with the lucas stop leak, rather than the 220.00 i was quoted to replace the seal or whatnot. I should dedicate a form to my problems :P. BTW: not complaining, i didnt get a top of the line truck i wish i could have, but i love the discovery, after the money i''ve spent on it, the bastard will run strong and like new. then finally i can do the nice off road add ons.

its not a problem at all... its all gears in your tbox, unless theyre lined up perfectly it wont shift, the perfered method of shifting is when moving at up to 5 mph, if you try enough, youll find that every once in a while you will be able to get it in when stopped, just only when the gears in your box happen to line up perfectly, but considering the difference in gear ratios, they dont line up all the time

The pop you are hearing is probably the front driveshaft slapping. Do you hear the same clumk going into reverse? Also, have you paid $$ for the P/S leak? Check your hoses going to the reservoir. Cut off the factory clamps and install regular worm hose clamps. Also make sure and use ATF, not regular power steering fluid...

I just heard this the other day. Some conditions, 45mph or better, stopping very hard, at about 15mph I heard and felt a clunk up front. It''s only happened one other time, but I''m a little worried. Anyone have an idea?
