Alternator - 7/11/2008 5:01:16 PM    baddiscoII   Posts: 6 Joined: 8/6/2007 Status: offline I have a 99 discoII with 105000 on it. I had alternator put on it last year. Got in it today really hard to start. Checked the battery 12.4 volts. Terminals little corrodid. Cleaned them started and checked the running volts 13.3 volts. Truck starts, but is that a low volt output. Should it be closer to 15v? Any advice on exhaust manifold gasket replacement? Post #: 1

If you have an EX leak, look at your manifold and the welds around the down pipe. Common place to leak. Not sure on your voltage, just clean everything and see how it goes. I''d get a new battery before winter comes, yours is almost 50% dead right now and sulfation starts at about 12.4, which really reduces your amp output.
