I have a 99 discoII with 105000 on it. I had alternator put on it last year. Got in it today really hard to start. Checked the battery 12.4 volts. Terminals little corrodid. Cleaned them started and checked the running volts 13.3 volts. Truck starts, but is that a low volt output. Should it be closer to 15v? Any advice on exhaust manifold gasket replacement?

Douse the bolts for your manifold gasket in pb blaster a couple of times before you try to break them loose. If you have an EX leak, look at your manifold and the welds around the down pipe. Common place to leak.

Not sure on your voltage, just clean everything and see how it goes. You Batt might be gone and drawind the V down.....

My ScanGauge reports 13.4-13.7 under load while running. No problem starting.

15 volts would be bad for your battery. I''d get a new battery before winter comes, yours is almost 50% dead right now and sulfation starts at about 12.4, which really reduces your amp output. What do you mean by "hard to start"?

Battery is about 3 years old, trucks sound like it take a little more for the starter to turn over. Starter sound slower.

Sounds like your battery is going south. If you take the trk to AutoZone they will test your battery and alternator for you.

Rovers ideal range is 13.6 to 14.4 to keep the ECU''s happy.
