hell yes they work! I have a valentine one and used it with my Audi to drive back and forth from Dallas to San diego (1500 miles) and never once came close to getting a ticket. Just drive smart, watch up the road for people braking abruptly and let a few people that are going fast stay ahead about 30 seconds so if there is a cop with his radar turned off, they will get the ticket

DONT BOTHER!!!  I used to have one and I got tickets all the time, if a cop see''s two speeding cars and one has a radar detector, THAT is the car he is going to pull over. Besides, unless you have money to burn, there is no need to speed. Especially in a Disco.

If you do end up getting one (for a LR I dont know why?) make sure it has vg-2 protection, without that they are quite easy for the police to detect, if it doesnt have vg-2 protection it is basically a cheap gimmick. And with technology advancements today, its not going to be long before they detect all of them.

If you want to find the cops, buy a CB and listen for a "full grown on your side takin'' yer picture". That means cop.

Just set your cruise to around 5 mph over the speed limit and don''t worry about it.  Don''t become detector dependant.

the V1 rocks, I have not seen a better one. I am saving up for one myself, it also has the really nice feature of a remote display so you could stick it on top of your steering column where it is out of sight. when you plug it in the main display goes out. I would not trade mine for a gold brick. It paid for itself the first day I had it.
