I noticed that my seat heaters don''''t seem to work. The fuses are fine and the switch lights up but they don''''t seem to warm up. Are they tied in to the temperature control for the heater somehow? I just bought the truck 2 months ago and haven''''t used the heat except to make sure it worked. Can anyone think of something that I could check that could be causing this? Do they just take a long time to warm?

If the fuses are good and the switches are good then it is the heating element.

How to I check the heating elements to see if they are the problem? Are there any relays in the system that may be bad?

As far as I know, fuse, switch, heater. No relays that I know of but I could be wrong. Wouldnt be the first time.

pretty sure there is a thermostat on it. Pull your seats out and check the wiring. They come out easily and rest in the back seat well...

Are you talking about the OBDII port? Where you plug in the trouble code scanner?

I dont have a clue about your yellow thing under the seat. Maybe a old Cheeto? If you dont see a thin piece of metal the full length of the fuse inside the fuse then it is bad. Replace it with the same size fuse. It will say on the top, i.e.,"10", "15", "20", etc. NEVER replace with a bigger number. If its a 10 amp fuse then you MUST replace it with another 10 amp fuse.

I know this is an old thread but I''ve been trying to troubleshoot as I have time since I started it. I looked under my driver seat and all the fuses I found appear to be good but I believe they are for the seat motors. If I recall correctly there were 4 fuses, 2 30 amps and 2 40 amps. I assume they are for the seat motors because of the presence of 4 yellow relays which correspond to the 4 seat motors. Is there more fuses under the seat that I missed? Are they under the passenger seat? With winter coming I''d really like to get them fixed if I can without putting a lot of money into them right now. I also don''t really have a place to work on the truck so anything major like taking the seats apart isn''t going to be possible.
