I have a 2001 Rover 4.6 SE and every morning when I go outside the front of my truck is sitting on top of my tires, but as soon as i get in and crank it up it rises back up. I suppose that i have a leak in one of my airbags but are there any other possible things that could be going wrong?

I had similar probs with my 4.6 HSE and had qoutes of £400-£500 for rear air bag replacements.

I'm not too technical but after obtaining new replacements cheap, me and a mate set about sorting the problem.

You definately need two good trolley jacks but we managaed the job in about two hours (most of it spent trying to remove the two holding pins).

I reckon I could do the job again now in about 30 mins each side tops.

Well worth a go

If you need to replace theair bags you might as well go with coils, cheaper, better, and no more problems. You can even lift it going with coils, weather you lift it or leave it sock ride height, coils are far better than air bags.

I had the same problem on my 97 RR 4.0. The Dealership explained that the air-springs(bag) were leaking, and that eventually the car would not be able to pump itself back up. I opted to replace the fouled Air Suspension system with the Land Rover Spring Suspension system from earlier model years. It was well worth the money! Ride is great, off road handling is superb still, and it beats having to deal with that Air-Suspension crap anymore.

Agree w going with new coil suspension, handling won't be as good but you wont have to face potential problems down the rd. Most likely your air bag has a slice in it and the small leak isn't noticeable until it sits overnight and then faults yet is able to pump back up when you start the vehicle.

If you are interested, I have a set of (4) new air bags that I purchased from Atlantic British and never installed. I personally like the suspension with the air bags to be able to have the SUV lower and rise etc

I would be willing to sell fairly cheap. Email me at suprajim@yahoo.com. Im located in VA near DC

I just got my 2000 County back from the shop. It was doing the same thing. They told me there were valve problems. They replaced the valve blocks.

I wouldn't automatically assume it's the bags ... I would have it checked out.

I had the same problem, and I just changed the air bags and now it works great. Don't get charged to much, the bags are about $250 per set and the installation is very easy. Only two clips hold the bag and the air hose is very easy to unplug and plug into the new air bag. For bags, look on ebay!
