Greetings, I just purchased a used (obviously I guess?) 1992 Range Rover County (black). 160 K for miles and overall it seems in good nick. So, I am excited about getting my hands dirty again and having a cool vehicle to drive around in after having had to put up w/ a load of foreign rubbish for so long. I grew up in the UK, mostly the NE Hants area, so as a lad I remember seeing Rovers all over. Also, I am in the US Army stationed here on Ft. Jackson, SC. If you will; I do have a couple of early questions; 1) Does anyone know of a good Rover repair shop in Columbia, SC? I think I saw something on the web in Greenville, SC, but that''s a good 100+ miles away. 2) The main issue this Rover has is that the brakes barely work. I have to press VERY hard for them to do anything. I did have the vehicle looked at by a local repair shop and he said "Rotors and pads look fine". He suspects it''s the ABS Hydraulic module or Electrical module, and oh by the way, they cost $1500... Nuff'' said on that. Any ideas if this may be the culprit? Sorry to fire off a tech question straight away but I can''t do much until the brakes get sorted. Thanks and I look forward to owning my Rover!
