Hmm... did you actually take the laptop apart cause, if you did you might want to make sure the keyboard is connected to the board properly (its a very thin cable be careful) but, then if it wasn''t connected properly I don''t think it would work at all...So it might be the keys themselves getting stuck, you can pull the keys off and look to see if there is something restricting them and just pop them back on, just becareful when doing this because i have broken the plastic part of the keys before by being to rough with them.

The "B" key has something under it and the "H" key just doesnt work.
Once we get back on our feet I am buying a new laptop, mine is from 2001, my dad gave it to me after the motherboard fried, I bought a new board off of e-bay and now just over a year later it is starting to act up even more. The screen is going bad, I cannot run two things at once because the processor is so slow.
I want a MacBook so I can make movies and such. Hopefully by this time next year.
Thank you for your help Scott. I''ve gotten pretty good at taking this thing apart.

Do yourself a favor and don''t buy a macbook... the old macintosh laptops used a motorola processor and was in my opinion a very good processor. it ran very cool and fast and i do not know why they got rid of it. The new macbooks are just intel core 2 duos with the same graphics card, hard drive, processor etc. that a dell would have for about 500 dollars less. Some of the dells that are configured the same as the macbooks can actually run the mac operating system lol. In the end you can choose what you want but its just something to think about. Oh yeah and stay away from those nvidia geforce 8000 graphics cards unless you want a melt down (macs use ATI and don''t have that problem fyi)

By delivery driver do you mean commercial driver? There is a hurt for commercial drivers everywhere I''ve been. Can''t imagine MI would be any different. That sucks that you can''t move. Here in North Dakota, my company is hurting for people to work in the oil fields. I would never say this is a place I''d recommend living but the work is good and steady, and it pays decent.

I actually moved from a PC to a macbook pro when my dad decided he didn''t need it anymore. I''ll never go back to a PC although I can''t quite bring myself to sell my Dell laptop. I wiped out the hard drive on my Dell and reloaded getting ready to sell it but it is running so well I can''t quite do it.

Yes commercial driver. I have a class "B" CDL with HAZMAT and tanker endorsments. All the jobs here are class "A" OTR drivers, well I have a wife and three kids...and you know what OTR means. Never home.
It looks like I will be going back to FedEx Home Delivery, worked there for two years, tucked my tail between my legs and asked for my old job back.
Took the piss test and pyhsical and I need to call them Sat. I start Tuesday unless something else happens.
No benifits and have to work every Saturday, but I am not going to complain. At least with the van I get front row parking at the mall during the Christmas shopping season!!

Trust me, I understand not wanting to go over the road. I have a class A with all my endorsements (hazmat/tanker, double/triples) and was fortunate to kind of fall into this job I have now. Even being single I still don''t want to go OTR. I took the job because it is a 2 on/2 off schedule but I still hardly see home. Either I work extra weeks or I take trips to see friends on my weeks off. It always sucks to have to go ask for a job back but it sure beats being unemployed. Whatever it takes to support to the family, and the Rover.

The Disco hasnt moved since I was laid off on the 20th of August. Parked it in the driveway and havent even started it. Been driving the Volvo because it is so much better on gas.
They wanted me to come back to FedEx, I worked for this contractor even after I left. I would help out during peak season and the occasional Sat. and he would always ask me when I was coming back.
Hes a good guy to work for.

I have a Class "A" and I would have to be facing starvation before I drove OTR. It''s no life for anyone much less someone with a family.

Good people usually land on their feet so be patient. Having someone good to work for is something. I''d rather work for less for good people than make more money and be miserable.

Amen!
When I went through my divorce I lost everything, house, job, brand new $35,000 SUV that I only had three payments to go and it was mine, lowest point in my life but I came out on top. I got the kids, she pays me child support and she has to carry medical insurance on the kids. Plus I am happier now than ever before.
I really appriciate all the input, thoughts and support everyone on this forum has offered.
I just hope that I can repay it someday.
Thanks again guys.

I guess that it is true that ever cloud has a silver lining. I completely agree that being happy is more important than making a lot of money. No matter how much money you make, when you''re dead you''re dead. What''s important is being happy before you die.
