Whats up Peoples? I am thinking about buying a 2004 LR Disco with 70K miles for 10500. The Car is in pretty good condition, well taken care of, no wrecks one owner it seems like a good deal. Anyone have some good info on maintenance and how these SUVs perform with this many miles? What should I expect if I buy it?

With that many miles? What do you think these are, Jeeps? Lets just say that you can expect to put on another 200,000 miles on the original engine and transmission.
Here are a few things that you need to know, you MUST use premium gas, it is not recimmened, it is REQUIRED!
You must get the front driveshaft rebuilt with greasable u-joints, if you do not you will be buying a new transmisison. $7,000.
Flush and fill the coolant every 3 yrs or 45,000 miles, flush the brake fluid every 2 years.
I would stay away from the SLS (air ride suspension). The people who have it love it until it breaks.
You can get many parts from AutoZone.
www.roverlandparts.com for used parts.
www.atlanticbritish.com for new ones.
Scroll through the "angles" post and look at the pics and you will see how well these trucks are built.

Thanks man that helps out  so much. The only thing is that I got up under it today to check the thing out for leaks or any signs of leaking and the transfer case appears to be leaking not bad but it is leaking. I''m getting it from a dealer and I have had my body guy go over it to make sure of no past damage so the thing is great except the transfer case leak is that pretty costly or common for these cars? Stupid question, huh?

There is no such thing as a stupid question, only stupid answers.
Yes, it is normal for a Land Rover to leak. Just read my signature.
Just check it and make sure that it is full, and change the driveline fluids every 50,000 miles. That includeds the transmission, transfer case and both the front and rear differentials.
I would change tham after you get it home and then again at 100,000 and then every 50k after that. Unless you do alot of wading with the truck.
And check those fluid levels every 6 months. If the leak gets to bad you will have to fix it. Ususally just a bad seal, no big deal.
