OK I am pretty ticked off right now and didnt quite know what sectionk to put this in...

So I am in the process of researching and getting quotes for extended warranties for my 02 Range Rover. I see a link to Warranties 4 Wheels and I get an email quote from them. I had a couple of questions so I call and end up getting the owner Wayne.
No kidding the first words out of his mouhth are "Yeah this is Wayne what do you need?" (insert pised off sound tone) I tell him "I got a quote by email and" well before I could finish he says "Yeah we sent you a quote, whats the problem are you blind?". I tell him " No I am not blind, but that is just plain rude, I have some questions about your warraties and I dont like how this conversation is starting out" He then starts yelling at me over the phone and said someting about "go find some burger flipping equipment online (WTF does that mean??) and he doesnt want to deal with stupid people like me." Now keep in mind this conversation from start to finish lasted probably 45 seconds and then he hung up on me.

I am pissed but I am laughing because it was just so odd that the owner of a business would pop off like that to a customer. I am thinking was I just Punk'd or am I on Crank Yankers?

Well obviously I will not be doing business with Warranties 4 Wheels and I advise anyone to stay away from them. If this is how they treat their customers to get you to buy, then I hate to see what happens after you pay 3 grand for a warranty.

So this leads me to this: What companies have good extended warranty plans and is it worth it to go with a company over the warranty Land Rover sells?

Sounds like a winning business plan to me. I'm sure his investors love him. Just be gald you didn't buy the warranty and wait to call until you had a claim.

I found that certain finance companies will offer warranties to their customers. For example, Wells Fargo Financial has a warranty program in certain states. I'd start out by checking with your finance company to see if they offer anything. I still don't have one on my 2000 Disco, since I found out that the Land Rover warranty was no-transferrable.

Yeah it pays to speak with a human sometimes before buying just to get a feel for their attitude. I have one of the contracts for the Land Rover Assured Warranty and on it there is a section that states "YOU can transfer the coverage to another private owner of the VEHICLE.
There is an astick beside it that states "to see the contract section on state specfic language"

Thanks for the advice on financial companies.

Be very, very careful when purchasing aftermarket warranties ! Read the fine print OR get recommendations. The Land Rover Certified Co. is OK. Not the greatest but, Dealers are used to dealing with them. BTW, LRNA sublets their 'Certified' cars to APCO.
