My son slammed the tailgate shut on my 2004 freelander. I could not open the tailgate although I could hear the microswitch
clicking. The rear window would not work and neither would the wipers. Messed about with it (operating locks checking fuses)for about 1/2 hour and it and it miraculously started working again. Is there likely to be a wiring fault somewhere ? Any advice greatly appreciated

when the tail door window regulator/motor is not working the system wont let the tail door to open.
remember the glass drops down about an inch then the door opens.
the tail glass motor is not available separately its sold with the regulator and cables as well.
i would wait till its more of a permanent problem due to the price of the motor/regulator
