One of my pet peeves is when the manufacturer tells you there is something you are supposed to replace every 12k miles, but then never tells you how to replace it. I read through the owners manaul in our new used 2004 Freelander SE, a couple of times. It mentions the pollen filter in a couple of places, but never explains how to replace it. Sort of leads me to believe they consider this a dealer only replacement? Does anyone have any experience with this? Is it "user" replaceable or is it really dealer only?

its not dealer only replacement. its under passenger side dash and slides up into the hvac box. it has four screws, some times its torque some times its 6mm nut heads. slides right down but you have to curve it slightly to get the new on back in. ps when LRSUX leaves the standard spam post please flag and send p/m to admin about this requesting his/her removal from forum, thank you.
