I like the Land Cruiser, that is my third choice in SUV.
First is the DI, second is the Mitsubishi Montero.

The montero or pajero as it is called here is totally frowned upon in these parts. Although a capable offroader, its has earned the reputation of a severe mall crawler, poser if you will, And its gayish looks don''t help than image either.

The disco II is actually owned by the local Landy dealers and is driven by friend who works there. They have a offroad division kinda like a Landy Owners Clubs where thry go on trips and stuff. Its defunct now but since the owner also runs a tourism biz the disco II is used for showing the tourist around the desert. I''ve got my eyes on that DII for sometime noe its 2004 fully loaded dual sunroof leather the works with a 2" OME lift and since its owned by the dealers you can imagine the condition its in. Has just ticked over 60k miles. And they are gonna let it go for silly money. Only thing is they can''t find a suitable replacement. The new LR2 really wasnt up to the job. Since they also the ford dealer ship they have been trying out various trucks like the explorer and expedition. So as soon as get a replacement to retire the DII, I''ll try to get my nasty paws on it.

As for the trucks on their noses. Its while crossing dune ridges. The most trickiest bit of desert driving. As you have no idea whats on the other side. If your too slow you end up sitting on you chasis on top of the dune with all fours hanging like the Rangy in the pic and too fast you risk flying off. These people went off too fast of the crest of the dune nosediving in some very soft sand. Basically like throwing a shovel in pile of sand .
