Hey, my first post!! Congrats to me! (haha) I have a 2000 Disco II SD with the US-Spec 4.0L engine and auto. trans. Upon completing several thousand miles of highway driving this past August, the 'Service Engine Soon' (amber) light illuminated, albeit without flashing. I thought nothing of it until about a month ago when I noticed a large puddle of oil underneath where I park the car. The engine runs fine, but there are some interesting mechanical 'whirs' at idle and a bit of 'chatter' when accelerating (though neither is all too loud). Any ideas? Head gaskets? Valve guides? Cost is not an issue- I have an extended warranty on the vehicle. Thanks!! -Andy

Andy, If the SEL ( service engine light ) is on, you need to do so. Have A competent repair shop Analise your vehicle. This has nothing to do with your oil leak. Bait
