Incentives, Rebates, Special Financing??

Hi Everyone!

I'm new to the forum, so you'll have to cut me some slack if I sound too much like a newbie.

Through tons of research online, the Detroit Autoshow, and test driving one, I've fallen in love with the '05 Freelander. I'd really like to BUY one ASAP, but I'm willing to wait a little while if I can get some sort of rebate or special financing, etc...

My questions are: Does landrover ever offer these types of special incentives, and if so how often? Does anyone have the inside scoop on when the next incentives for the Freelander will hit?

I'm assuming that because Landrovers are "Premium" they usually don't offer anything like that until maybe around the end of December.

I recommend looking periodically at Land Rover's Website (www.landroverusa.com) and checking out the Special Offers and Financing section. I got my '03 Discovery through one of these offers ($399 a month on a base model) in June '03. They currently don't have any specials on the Freelander. However, here is a good Lease offer on the new LR3. The best deals on new Land Rovers are usually offered later in the year. If you don't plan on putting a lot of miles, a 3-year lease may be a good way to go. Make sure you negotiate at least 15K miles per year though. The offer below is for 10K miles per year only. If you plan to buy it at the end of the lease, mileage does not matter. Let me know if you need any other info.

$599*† per month lease for 39 months

$599 First mo. Payment
$1,805 Down payment
$495 Acquisition Fee
$600 Security deposit

Thanks to all of you who replied so far.

I've checked both Consumer Reports and JD Powers ratings - but neither gave an idea of incentives.

I've also been watching Landrover's website special offers for a little over a month, but haven't seen anything (not a real long toime to be watching though). I figured they normally don't have any incentives on the Freelander until maybe December, if then at all, mostly because of the popularity.

I guess I'll just have to bite the bullet and go for it real soon - end of the month has the best possibility for negotiation.

Something else to check out. Most dealers use Freelanders as loner vehicles. They sell them at A reduced price later. They are A great deal and go fast.

id ont know if thats such a good idea. i'd think that if one's new car was breaking down, one would take out frustration on the loaner.

One other question -

I have access to both the Ford X-plan (through work) and the A-plan (through my grandfather), and because I confirmed it at the dealership, I know that Landrover definately accepts the X-plan; does anyone know if they will accept the A-plan as well?

I have to get my grandfathers login and PIN to check it out on the A-plan website, but I was curious if anyone here knew because I've heard rumors that they won't accept it.

Just an update...

I checked out the A-plan website and Land Rover is covered, BUT it's up to the individual dealerships on whether or not they want to participate. So, I guess I have to find myself a dealership that will. I'm willing to bet that most will be open to this - a sale is a sale.

Does anyone know how easily you can order the interior/exterior color and trim level if they don't have what you want in their inventory? I heard that there is onlt a limited number of Freelanders delivered to the US every year.

Would like to purchase 2005 range rover hse fully loaded. Can anyone give me an idea of what i should expect to pay and how much the dealer will come down. Thanks. Would like to lease.
