It seems to be in great condition. I haven't taken it for a test drive yet and am new to this line of vehicles. I have always wanted one and found a pre-owned one for 11k and it has 100k miles on it.

Two questions:

What issues do I need to be aware of on this model with high mileage?
What's the yearly cost of maintenance on these vehicles on average?

Where are you located? This could be a costly adventure. I would have a prepurchase inspection done first. Does this rover still have its air suspension? How bad are the oil leaks?Believe me they are there. As well as the service history on this beast. Let me know- Rusty Owens HR Motorcars- indy rover repair specialists.

I am located in Oviedo, FL a suburb of Orlando. I plan on having an inspection done by a local garage that works on RRs. The air suspension works like a charm from what I can tell as I took a test drive yesterday. What makes me hesitant to pursue this now is that the car has NO owners manual or prior service records. Ugh!!!

The dealer swears it hasn't been in a wreck and I guess CarFax can confirm this for me, if needed, right?

The RRs interior is in good condition except for some shedding off the spray on lining the use on the seat belt panels on the doors. It look tacky, but can be overlooked. He says that it occurs in hot climates like FLA has.

I have not seen any oil leaks, and I checked the exhaust for any grey/black smoke; none was present. The engine looks to be in good condition as well. Any other pointers? Should I just walk away from this deal?

Up keep and maint costs are very high on any NAS Range. Keep in mind this vehicle sold new for about $50K. So double everything compared to A $25K vehicle. The air susp system itself can cost A few thousand to replace air bags ,compressor, valve block, sensors, etc. The vehicle has A lot of advanced systems and computers ( 17 ). Not trying to scare you off. Just letting you know all this stuff doesn't last forever and will require repairs and maintenance. Wild guess on maint, $2-4K A year ( baring major component failure )? 11K seems high also, have you compared ?

Is this A Land Rover Dealer ? You would be better off with A Certified used vehicle from A LR Dealer if you can afford it. Don't stretch to get into A vehicle like this w/o having the $ for repairs ! Just my opinion.

Good luck, feel free to ask more questions, and let us know your decision !
